Clery Act campus security report

A federally mandated annual report of campus crime statistics published by every U.S. college that participates in federal aid.

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1990 requires every Title IV college to publish an Annual Security Report by October 1 covering the previous three years. Reports include statistics on murder, sexual assault, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, motor-vehicle theft, arson, hate crimes, dating violence, and arrests for liquor/drug/weapons violations. CampusPin's campus-safety risk band is derived from Clery counts normalized by enrollment.

Clery counts are not crime rates in the surrounding city — those come from FBI UCR data.
