How Oklahoma's higher-education landscape shapes a search
Oklahoma’s public higher-education sector is coordinated by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and includes 25 public colleges and universities. The University of Oklahoma (Norman flagship) and Oklahoma State University (Stillwater — land-grant) are the state’s two major public research universities. Other publics include the University of Central Oklahoma (Edmond), Oklahoma City University (private), Tulsa University (private), and several regional public universities. Langston University in Langston is the state’s public HBCU. Oklahoma operates 12 community colleges across the state. Oklahoma’s Promise scholarship covers in-state tuition for eligible students.
